Sarah Elizabeth was the 6th child of Leland & Rosella Sweet. The family had moved to L.A. from Kearney, Nebraska wher Betty's three siters and two brothers had been born. The family was in the fellowship of a congregation of the Methodist Church. Betty attended the L.A. public schools through elementary school, then worked as a telephone operator. Louis retired from the Fire Department in 1959. The moved to Dana Point in 1971.
